  30.     To start the program, from the DOS prompt type
  31.  
  32.           GALAXY
  33.  
  34.     and press ENTER.  The program will prompt you for the name of a file
  35.     to edit.  You can enter GALAXY.DOC to load the included Quick
  36.     Reference Guide.

  38.     You can also automatically load a file when you start by including the
  39.     name of the file on the command line, like this:

  44.     To leave GALAXY, type ALT-X (X for eXit).  This key combination is
  45.     typed by first pressing the key marked "Alt", and then, while the
  46.     "Alt" key is still down, pressing the "x" key.

  48.     You can configure GALAXY for your computer and your preferred settings
  49.     for colors, margins, default printer, etc., by using the SETUP program.
  50.     Just type SETUP from the DOS prompt and answer the questions.

  53.     ABOUT SHAREWARE
  54.  
  55.     GALAXY  is  being  distributed under a unique marketing method known as
  56.     Shareware.  The Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP) offers the
  57.     following definition of Shareware:
  58.  
  59.           Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  60.           before  buying  it.  If  you  try  a  Shareware program and
  61.           continue using it, you are expected to register. Individual
  62.           programs differ on details  --  some  request  registration
  63.           while  others  require  it,  some  specify  a maximum trial
  64.           period. With registration, you get anything from the simple
  65.           right to continue using the software to an updated  program
  66.           with printed manual.

  68.           Copyright  laws  apply  to  both  Shareware  and commercial
  69.           software, and the copyright holder retains all rights, with
  70.           a  few  specific  exceptions  as  stated  below.  Shareware
  71.           authors  are accomplished programmers, just like commercial
  72.           authors, and the programs are of  comparable  quality.  (In
  73.           both cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main
  74.           difference  is  in  the  method of distribution. The author
  75.           specifically grants the right to copy  and  distribute  the
  76.           software,  either to all and sundry or to a specific group.
  77.           For example, some authors require written permission before
  78.           a commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  80.           So, Shareware is a  distribution  method,  not  a  type  of
  81.           software.  You  should  find software that suits your needs
  82.           and pocketbook, whether it's commercial or  Shareware.  The
  83.           Shareware  system  makes fitting your needs easier, because
  84.           you can try before you buy. And  because  the  overhead  is
  85.           low,  prices  are  low  also.  Shareware  has  the ultimate
  86.           money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the  product,  you
  87.           don't pay for it.

  89.     Registration licenses you to use GALAXY Version 2.2, and all future 2.x
  90.     updates.  Any  unregistered  use  other  than trial use to determine if
  91.     GALAXY meets your needs is a violation of our license agreement and  is
  92.     forbidden.

  94.     Single  user  registration is available for $49.95 per copy. Registered
  95.     users will be sent the most  current  version  of  the  program  and  a
  96.     printed  reference  guide.  Registration  also  entitles  you  to  free
  97.     telephone support and free 2.x updates.

  99.     The GALAXY license authorizes use of one copy of GALAXY on one  machine
  100.     at   a  time.  If  you  have  multiple  computers,  either  standalone,
  101.     networked, or multi-user, you need to register one copy of  GALAXY  for
  102.     each workstation on which it will be used.
